We have made the decision that Sojourner Truth was one of the most significant figures in Antebellum America. She successfully escaped to freedom with her infant daughter, won her son's freedom by challenging a white man in court, and was one of the foremost leaders of the abolition movement and women's rights advocate. While abolition was one of the few causes Truth was able to see realized in her lifetime, the amendment for women's suffrage was ratified nearly four decades after her death.

Thank you for defending Sojourner Truth. We appreciate your help.
